Local Reading Groups Support
The results are in! Our registered book groups on Bainbridge Island and North Kitsap have voted, and their favorite reads of the past year have been counted! This year the top prizes all went to Pacific Northwest and Alaska authors. First place was Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey (she's a bookseller!), a book that has become a staple on our book group wall. There was a tie for second place between Timothy Egan's Short Nights of the Shadow Catcher and Brian Doyle's Mink River. Both books tell volumes about the Northwest and the people who grow here along with trees, rivers, mountains, and software. Finally, our third place winner was The Orchardist, a lovely book by Amanda Coplin. Thanks to all the book groups for voting for their favorites!
We're delighted to serve as your source for numerous book group materials, including discussion guides, author information, and lists of recommended books.
We collect interviews with and articles on authors, so if you want to round out your discussion, check out our resources.
We have tips on local authors who are willing to attend book discussion meetings on their works. And our spirited and knowledgeable staff is always eager to recommend titles. We can provide resources for those wishing to join or start a book group, and, of course, our Eagle Harbor Readers Circle always welcomes new faces.
Stop by and browse our book group section, and if you haven't already, consider adding your book group to our records so we can provide timely availability of your selections to our Bainbridge Book Group list. We also offer members of registered book groups a card good for a 15% discount on their group's selection each month if it has been reported to the store!
