West Sound Reads—the alliance between independent bookstores in the Puget Sound area and the Kitsap Regional Library—brings the beloved author of Animal, Vegetable, Miracle to Bainbridge High School for a very special appearance on behalf of her new novel, seven years in the making.

Well worth the wait for fans of her earlier fiction including Animal Dreams and The Poisonwood Bible, The Lacuna is set in the U.S. and Mexico during the 1930s, 40s and 50s, and includes real-life historical figures including Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, and Leon Trotsky.

Doors will open at 6:30pm.  There will be priority seating in folding chairs on the floor for those who purchased their books in advance. An usher will take their ticket and escort them to the section.  If they prefer to sit in the bleachers they are welcome to.
