In 1969, "Betty's Books" opened at 450 Winslow Way with 500 square feet of book selling space determined to carve a literary niche on Bainbridge Island. Now, 38 years later, a location two blocks west (157 Winslow Way), and with nearly ten times the space, Eagle Harbor Books is proud to provide quality literature and a place for the community to gather and share their love of words and knowledge.

As Bainbridge Island's full service community bookstore, we have a devoted staff that are all from the local community, and who have as large a stake as you in making the bookstore a place where all in our county can find what interests them. We believe that a bookstore is a place where ideas and ingenuity flourish. We feel privileged to be such a place and will continue to provide our Bainbridge Island and Kitsap communities with the best possible selection of books and quality service in a comfortable, fun atmosphere.

We are excited that our "brick-&-mortar" has expanded onto the Internet and pleased that you have found us, but we hope that you will also come in to our store on Bainbridge Island and say hello. For while we are enthusiastic to join a larger community, we remain committed to the one that has walked through our doors for the past thirty years.
