We support the right to read!
"Banned Books Week (October 1 — October 7, 2023) is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read. Typically, it spotlights current and historical attempts to censor books in libraries and schools. It brings together the entire book community — librarians, booksellers, publishers, journalists, teachers, and readers of all types — in shared support of the freedom to seek and to express ideas, even those some consider unorthodox or unpopular and to express ideas, even those some consider unorthodox or unpopular."

Banned Books Week 2023 has the theme “Let Freedom Read.” All readers deserve to see themselves reflected in the books available to them, and people better understand themselves and each other when given the opportunity to choose what they want to read without restriction. This is particularly true for young people, who are most impacted by censorship.
The first 10 books below were the most challenged books of the last year. The rest have been frequently challenged, often for years. #FreeTheBooks!
