You fall in love again with the outdoors as well as the characters presented in this amazing telling of the life of Randy Morgensen. Set in the Sierra Nevada mountains, Randy balanced his domestic life with his Summers spent as a backcountry ranger, until he went missing in 1996. There is something in this book for everyone, and we can all see a little of ourselves in Randy. Every genre is represented - mystery, biography, love, and everything in between. This book will appeal to your inner nature nut and your short-lived Psych-Major dreams. Hands down my favorite book in the world, one that has a permanent spot on my nightstand.

Destined to become a classic of adventure literature, The Last Season examines the extraordinary life of legendary backcountry ranger Randy Morgenson and his mysterious disappearance in California's unforgiving Sierra Nevada—mountains as perilous as they are beautiful. Eric Blehm's masterful work is a gripping detective story interwoven with the riveting biography of a complicated, original, and wholly fascinating man.
