Found, with Bree Loewen

Join us in welcoming mountain resuce expert Bree Loewen when she shares stories and images from her newly released book Found: A Life in Mountain Rescue.  Loewen will be at the book store Thursday, Aug. 3, at 6:30pm.

An inspiring exploration of the drama and camaraderie of search and rescue, Found conveys the intensity of rescue operations, the vivid beauty of wilderness landscapes, and the challenges of balancing a vocation with the demands of raising a family. Loewen’s elegantly rendered stories reveal the purpose she finds in community and service.

A current board member for Seattle Mountain Rescue (SMR), Bree Loewen has participated in hundreds of rescue missions, many of which have saved lives and many others for which the service performed was in returning a lifeless body to the victim’s family. A former climbing ranger on Mount Rainier, Bree is also a wife, mother, and nursing student, who loves to climb and ski and work with her mountain rescue friends. The recently released Found: A Life in Mountain Rescue (Mountaineers Books) is her second book.
