Kitsap Regional Library: Cressida Cowell

Kitsap Regional Library, in partnership with Eagle Harbor Books and Liberty Bay Books, will host beloved best-selling British author Cressida Cowell (How to Train Your Dragon) at the Sylvan Way branch on Wednesday, Oct. 4, from 6-7pm. She will talk about her new book, The Wizards of Once.

In this start of a new series, the warring world of the Wizards and Warriors collide in a thrilling and enchanting adventure! Once there were Wizards, who were Magic, and Warriors, who were not. But Xar, son of the King of Wizards, can't cast a single spell. And Wish, daughter of the Warrior Queen, has a banned magical object of her own. When they collide in the wildwood, on the trail of a deadly witch, it's the start of a grand adventure that just might change the fabric of their worlds.

With Cressida Cowell's trademark wit, and the same stunning combination of action, adventure, humor, heart, and incredible artwork that made How to Train Your Dragon a beloved bestselling series, The Wizards of Once will transport and enchant readers.

"A rollicking adventure tale and coming-of-age story rolled into one enjoyable package...Readers will fall in love with the imaginative worldbuilding and humorous dialogue and asides...A delightful magical romp."
-- Kirkus

Cressida Cowell grew up in London and on a small, uninhabited island off the west coast of Scotland, where she spent her time writing stories, fishing for things to eat, and exploring the island looking for dragons. She was convinced that there were dragons living on the island and has been fascinated by them ever since.
