Winslow Writers: Short Stories of Bainbridge Island

PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF TIME!

Join us at Eagle Harbor Books on Sunday, February 3rd at 1pm (Note we are starting early because of the Super Bowl) as local authors share stories about the island we call home. "Write what you know" is the conventional wisdom given to writers. Winslow Writers, a local writing group, took that advice to heart and has published an anthology, "Short Stories of Bainbridge Island," edited by Kirsten Foster and published by Red Rover Books. These five stories address themes of love, loss, and redemption as reflected through the unique lens of island culture.

Foster writes, "A sense of place may be an overused phrase, but it is entirely necessary to describe the powerful effect these stories create and carry...The place is now familiar yet still strange, soothing yet challenging, dramatic, mundane, gorgeous, sometimes menacing. I can only imagine their impact on off-island readers."

"Short Stories of Bainbridge Island" is available in print or PDF format at www.winslowwriters.com.

Winslow Writers is Abigail Hamilton, Lara O'Neal, Jessica Dubey, Starre Vartan, and Ulla Solberg.
